Sam started out as an Insurance Man right out of Kearney State College in Nebraska when he moved to Denver and went to work for Pennsilvania Life. However his first stint as an Insurance Agent was short lived and he returned to Kearney to become SamIAm the Pizza-Man. He was the first pizza cook hired back in 1977 and married Mary, the first waitress, five years later. Eventually he became part owner of the first Valentinos restaurant franchise expanding to seven stores across Nebraska and Colorado. It was Valentino’s that brought Sam and Mary to Loveland in 1984 where they have lived every since.
In 1986, shortly after his first daughter Samantha was born, Sam became SamIAm the Hotel-Man hired as an assistant restaurant manager to the Marriott. On May 2nd 1989 his second daughter Jessica was born and on that same day he was promoted to Food and Beverage Director for the hotel.
In 1990 he became SamIAm the Beer & Hot Dog-Man as the Director of Concessions for CSU Athletics with the Marriott Corporate Services. He went from serving prime rib and cognac in the Hotel to selling beer and hot dogs for the same price at CSU Football Games.
In 2001 he returned to being SamIAm the Insurance-Man when he joined the Craig Campbell Farmers Agency. Seventeen years later Craig retired so now Sam has become SamIAm the Medicare-Man helping folks understand the ins-and-outs of Medicare. Having just joined Jack Krier at Ameriquote means that Sam has a great mentor in Jack with a very strong and established agency.
Sam has been active in the Overland Sertoma Club and Toastmasters for nearly 2 decades, he enjoys gardening and cooking and watching sunsets with his wife off of their back deck.
